Make A Difference This Earth Day 🌎
It’s kind of sad that we only set aside one day a year to appreciate this amazingly beautiful planet we live on. Does that mean 364 days of the year we aren’t appreciating the Earth? No, but the best way to change our habits is by action.
Hopefully, the following actions will inspire you to change your consumption habits, even if it is just for one day. After all, there is only one Earth.Â
Unplug
Turn off the lights in unoccupied rooms and unplug all appliances and tools when not in use. Sounds like common sense right? Right.Drive less, carpool more
This one is easy. Walk or ride your bike to work, carpool with a colleague or friend, or take public transit. You can do it... James Corden does!

Lower your thermostat
Lowering your thermostat by as little as 2 degrees can make a huge difference not only on your monthly bill but also on the overall grid. If you want to be an all-star, lowering your thermostat during low consumption hours (such as when you are away or sleeping) can make a massive difference!
Wash your dishes by hand
This may be the hardest action to willingly do, but get those hands wet and clean the dishes by hand! Though a lot of dishwashers are eco-friendly and minimize water consumption, nothing can beat washing them manually. It can be really relaxing too (for some people...).
Change your light bulbs to LED’s
Bring grocery bags to the store
Using your own bags at the grocery store means there is less of a chance the plastic bags will end up in a landfill - or even worse, the ocean. This bag from PETA is only $2.50 👇.
Buy reusable bottled water
This may sound like a broken record, but there are a ton of reusable water bottle companies out there to prevent the consumption of plastic bottles. Here are a few to consider:
- S'Well Bottle - $25 to $45 Â-Â Klean Kantine - $20 to $70Â
- Brita - $20 to $30Â
- Platypus - $10 to $15
- Nalgene - $5 to $30
Donate, Don't Dump
Donate unwanted clothing, furniture, and additional items instead of contributing to a landfill!Â
